A.  In October 1981, at age 17, I was assigned to George AFB, CA (active duty).  I attended a briefing by the base hospital as part of the INTRO program for newly assigned personnel.  During that briefing, females (both military and civilian) were told to consider not getting pregnant while at George, because they had a “high infant mortality rate”.  [Read More…]
