If you, a friend, or loved one was injured or died as a result of an exposure to toxic substances at the US EPA Superfund site “CA2570024453”: George Air Force Base, OR Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA), OR Victorville Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Victorville), please see the following guides to get legal representation and medical help for your injuries.
File a VA claim for my exposure to toxic substances at George AFB
- Request a copy, of your military records from the National Personnel Records Center.
If you do not word your request for your records exactly as shown below, they will only produce the records that they choose to copy.- “I, ______, am requesting a complete and unredacted copy, printout, or export, of ANY AND ALL OF MY MILITARY RECORDS. THIS SHOULD INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO, a copy of my: military personnel file, DD214, discharge paperwork, orders, duty restrictions, discipline records, prescriptions, lab work, X-rays, MRIs, CAT scans, inpatient medical records, outpatient medical records, dental medical records, and mental health medical records. Please include ALL miscellaneous documents in the OMPF.”
- This is a starter list of documents needed for a VA “Toxic Exposure” claim
- Contact a VA attorney or a service officer, and file a claim for your toxic exposure. The Vietnam Veterans of America are the only service organization to file lawsuits and win on behalf of large blocks of veterans.
- Have your legal representative invoke the “VA’s Duty to Assist” under the Veterans Claims Assistance Act of 2000 (VCAA) in establishing a toxic injury. This provision in the VCAA can be used to force the VA to obtain the records. “VA’s Responsibilities include: Obtaining relevant records from any Federal agency. This may include records from the military, EPA, and ATSDR.”
- Contact the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC), and have them do a workup and a toxic exposure evaluation (AOEC Clinic Directory).
- IF the AOEC does find a potential connection between your health problems and an exposure at Military Family Housing, it is VERY important that you contact an attorney immediately because there is a limited time-frame to take legal action. I would recommend using the US News Best Law Firms for Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions – Plaintiffs or Martindale-Hubbell Find Lawyers and Law Firms and look for a law firm in your state with an AV rating.
- Contact the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) Regional Office where you live, and contact the ATSDR Western Branch – Region 9 where the Military Family Housing is located.
- Contact the U.S. Congress and the White House, visit their offices, write letters, and call and ask for assistance.
- Contact your local press.
- Write Letters to the Editor of your local paper.
- Post your story @ GeorgeAFB.Info.
- Submit your story to social network sites about George AFB, such as Facebook and Yahoo Groups. If you find other groups, please let me know and I will include them in the list
- Contact all of those whom you served with, and tell them about the contamination at DOD Base Family Housing and about your health problems, and ask them if they are having similar problems. Ask them to contact others.
- If you can afford it, post ads in your local paper that might reach those affected.
If you are married, have your spouse work with you. Think of it as a tag team. You will get burnt-out, so have your spouse fight while you take a break. Have your spouse call and write; they usually get better results. PS: The VA is afraid of angry wives.
Above all, be patient, polite, and persistent.

I was stationed at George AFB in 1987 for 10 months. Should I be concerned?
I am not a doctor or attorney, and cannot give medical advice or legal advice.
If you have no health problems now, I wouldn’t worry.
If you are sick or you think you may have been injured, please follow the steps that are outlined @ http://georgeafb.info/can-get-help-others/ and follow the directions in the section “I was stationed at George AFB and I am sick” to get evaluated for a toxic exposure by the Association of Occupational and Environmental Clinics (AOEC) nearest you.
See: http://www.aoec.org/directory.htm The AOEC does offer low-cost or no-cost workups.
IF the AOEC does find a potential connection between your health problems and an exposure at the George AFB schools, it is VERY important that you contact an attorney immediately because there is a limited timeframe to take legal action. I would recommend using the Martindale-Hubbell Find Lawyers and Law Firms @ http://www.martindale.com/Find-Lawyers-and-Law-Firms.aspx to look for a law firm in your state with an AV rating.
I know that the Army / Air Force liberally used extremely toxic organochlorine pesticides at ALL of the older buildings.
The Air Force found 500x safe levels of both aldrin and dieldrin and 15x the safe level of chlordane at the Base Family Housing.
See: http://georgeafb.info/george-afbs-persistent-organic-pollutants-pop/
The Air Force has refused to test for these extremely toxic organochlorine pesticides at the Base Schools, Family Housing, Barracks, and Dorms at George AFB.
See: http://georgeafb.info/george-afbs-schools/
Please forward this email to your friends from the schools and post the information on Facebook.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
If you are concerned about the organochlorine pesticides the most current information is at http://www.basefamilyhousing.info/

My father lived in Victorville and died of a strange type of skin cancer that the doctors did not identify until it was too late. My father was very fair-skinned and rarely went outside. Per the doctors, it was not skin cancer caused by the sun. My sister and her family lived nearby and reported strange ailments that disappeared only after they moved away.
My ex & I lived on GAFB, my son was born in base hospital..he now is paranoid schizophrenic& I have osteoporosis & macular degeneration!
