Gary J Lopresti

My name is Gary J Lopresti, I was stationed at GAFB from 1969 to 1973. I was assigned to the 434th TAC Squadron as Environmental Systems Specialist. I was exposed to TCE, Benzenes, Exhaust fumes, and many other toxicants over the years while I was stationed. My wife, daughter and I lived on base for two years. I myself had lived on base for three and a half years one-half year in beautiful downtown Victorville.

After several years my wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and many other immune system problems. My children have had several miscarriages and other immune system problems. I have been recently diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) along with CPAP Psoriatic arthritis and Psoriasis.

I am not a doctor, Veterans Service Officer (VSO), or attorney; therefore, I cannot provide medical or legal advice.

  1. Gary, I”m sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis of MDS and other medical conditions.
    My husband served at GAFB from 1968-1972 and recently died from MDS that worsened to acute myeloid leukemia. He played tennis on the base daily and surely drank lots of contaminated water there and bathed in it, but my spousal benefits claim was recently denied.
